The Muslim community of Albania developed today in the premises of Tirana International Hotel a promotional activity on the occasion of the institution's newest publication, entitled "Voice from the pulpit". This publication comes as a database of imams who have served from the re-opening of faith in our country in the 90s until December 2025.

Important figures of the institution participated in this activity, among them the Chairman of the Muslim Community of Albania, H. Bujar Spahiu, the President of the General Council, Mr. Islam Hoxha, vice-presidents, members of the presidency, muftis, imams as well as representatives of various associations.

The activity started with the reading of some Quranic verses by Hafizi Enes Hyka.

In his welcoming speech, the president Spahiu thanked those present for their participation and appreciated this publication as a valuable contribution to the identification and appreciation of the figure of the imam over the years. He emphasized that, after the 1990s, imams have played an essential role in the reconstruction of religious life in Albania, transforming not only into spiritual leaders, but also into educators, advisors and bridges between tradition and the new reality.

"The imam is not just a voice that is heard from the pulpit, but the conscience that orients society towards the good. He is the bridge that connects faith with everyday life, tradition with the future and speech with work. Therefore, the word that comes from the pulpit must always be measured, responsible and constructive, in the service of unity, morality and coexistence," he said.

Furthermore, he added that this publication aims to preserve and convey the experience, challenges and dedication of imams across generations, serving as an inspiration for the future.

Next, the Chairman of the General Council of the institution, Mr. Islam Hoxha emphasized the high responsibility that the imam carries as a divine trust, relying on the teachings of the Koran and the prophetic tradition. He underlined the importance of justice, sincerity and personal example in the exercise of this mission, as well as evidenced the contribution of imams after the 90s in the revival of religious life, the education of new generations, the strengthening of interreligious harmony and social support in difficult periods of transition.

Then, the Mufti of Saranda, Mr. Bledar Mulla, held a short lecture, where he focused on the importance of the fair, prudent and dignified transmission of the Islamic message, with a special focus on the education of the youth and facing the challenges of modern times.

Mr. Aurel Çani, Director of Cabinet and Human Resources at KMSH, also author of this publication. He introduced the attendees to the detailed work process that has accompanied the realization of the book, focusing on the collection of information from the muftis of the country, the challenges in verifying and systematizing the data, as well as the careful work in the graphic preparation and the printing process.

At the end of the activity, certificates of appreciation were distributed to some imams from all over Albania, proposed by the respective muftis, in recognition of their valuable contribution to the service of religion and community. The certificates were presented by the chairman Spahiu, the vice-chairmen of the institution Mr. Lauren Luli and Mr. Taulant Bica, as well as the Mufti of Tirana, Gazment Teqja.

This activity marked an important moment of appreciation and reflection on the imam's mission, placing him in the center of attention as a key figure in preserving religious, moral and social identity in society.
